Sri Lanka is a tropical island in the Indian ocean. The shape of this beautiful place calls to mind a tear dropped from Indias' subcontinent. Sri Lanka is a multi-religion country where you can easily admire Buddhist sights standing right next to Hindu temples or churches from the times of Dutch, Portuguese or British colonization.

Weligama Bay Resort lies on the southern tip of the island in the middle of the Weligama Bay. It is situated between Matara and Galle , 143 km from Colombo. It is a quiet place with near off shore islet known as Taprobane where a dream house of French Count de Maunay was built on and where later on famous writer Arthur C.Clark made his home. Long, clean and safe beaches attract visitors who are searching for a relaxing and peaceful vacations but it is also a perfect starting point for exploration of nearby attractions. From November till April you can enjoy whale or dolphin watching, all year round you can take a fishing trip or just sail along the coast. Scuba divers can enjoy discovering old shipwrecks or the beauty of undersea life. The soft beaches are inviting for daily walks, runs or games of beach volleyball.

- Mulkirigala rock temple - Described as the "little Sigiriya", Mulkirigala consists of a series of rock monasteries carved out of the face of a huge outcrop, built during the second century BC.
- Udawalawe National Park - Mulkirigala is located in the South East of Sri Lanka and is a major eco tourism destination. The game park is famous for its elephants, water buffalo, water monitor, lizards, sambar dear and the occasional leopards, is also an exciting location for bird enthusiasts.
